We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Flickhunt (mobile app and website), how it is used, and what choices you have.
Information Collection and Use
Data Controller: The Services are provided by The Creators, Warsaw, Henryka Brodatego 12, 02-496, Poland. For any privacy questions, contact: flickhunt@hey-creators.com.
Account Information: When you create an account, Flickhunt collects information such as your email address, name and surname (if you choose to provide them), username, profile photo, bio, preferences and password (stored in hashed form).
Content You Create: Flickhunt stores the content you create and share, including collections, watchlists, ratings, likes, comments, reviews, rooms and messages in rooms or chats (where available).
Device and Usage Data: When you use the app or website, Flickhunt may collect technical and usage data such as device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate location (country/region), pages and screens you view, features you use, clicks and interactions, as well as crash and performance data.
Identifiers: Flickhunt may use internal IDs, installation IDs, push notification tokens and, where allowed by law and device settings, mobile advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or GAID) for analytics and personalized advertising.
Cookies: On the website, cookies and similar technologies are used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, analyze traffic (for example via Google Analytics) and, where used, support marketing and ads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings and, where required, through a cookie banner.
Third-Party Sources. FlickHunt may receive information from:
social login providers (Apple, Google) – such as your name, email and profile picture, depending on your settings;
app stores and RevenueCat – limited purchase and subscription data (e.g. transaction ID, product, status, dates, region);
analytics services (e.g. Google Analytics) – aggregated usage statistics;
content providers like TMDB – movie and TV data only; no personal data is received from TMDB.
Device Permissions
Notifications: Used to send you updates about rooms, messages, reactions, invitations, account and subscription status. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Camera: Used to scan QR codes (for example, to join rooms) and to take photos you choose to upload (such as a profile picture). The camera is accessed only after you grant permission.
Photos / Media: Used so you can select and upload images from your device (for example, a profile photo or other content). You can revoke access in your device settings.
How Information Is Used
Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, let you search and discover movies and TV shows, create and share collections, join rooms and group sessions, and sync your data across devices.
Personalization: To recommend content based on your activity and preferences, customize your feed and show relevant suggestions.
Communication: To respond to support requests and feedback, send important service messages (for example about security, changes to terms, or subscription status), and notify you about activity related to you (reactions, invitations, etc.).
Payments and Subscriptions: To validate purchases with Apple, Google and RevenueCat, manage your subscription status, unlock premium features and handle billing issues or refunds.
Analytics and Improvement: To understand how Flickhunt is used, fix bugs, improve performance and design new features.
Advertising: To show third-party ads in the app and/or on the website and, where permitted by law and your settings, personalize ads and measure their performance.
Legal and Safety: To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce terms of use, comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users and The Creators.
Legal Bases (EU/EEA/UK)
For users in the EU/EEA and UK, personal data is processed on these legal bases:
Contract: to provide the service you signed up for (account, features, subscriptions).
Legitimate Interests: to improve the service, ensure security, prevent abuse and perform basic analytics, balanced with your rights.
Consent: for certain cookies, personalized advertising and some marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal Obligation: to comply with laws, for example tax and accounting rules.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Service Providers: Flickunt uses third-party providers for hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, customer support and similar services. They process data only under instructions from The Creators and must protect it.
Payments and Subscriptions: Data needed to manage purchases and premium access is shared with Apple App Store, Google Play Store and RevenueCat, which process payment data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Other User: Some information is visible to other users, such as your username, avatar, public collections and your actions in rooms or comments you choose to post.
Advertising and Analytics Partners: Pseudonymous or aggregated information may be shared with advertising networks and measurement partners to show and measure ads and understand usage.
Legal and Safety: Information may be disclosed if required by law, court order or government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of users or The Creators, or to prevent fraud and security issues.
Business Transfers: In case of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction, in line with this Privacy Policy.
Flickhunt does not sell your personal data.
International Transfers
The Creators is based in Poland, but some service providers may be located in other countries, including outside the EU/EEA/UK. When data is transferred to such countries, appropriate safeguards are used, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other mechanisms allowed by law. Data Retention
Data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including:
while your account is active;
as long as needed to operate the Services and provide support;
for the time required by law (for example tax and accounting);
for a reasonable period to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized. If you request deletion of your account, personal data will be deleted or anonymized except where certain information must or may be kept for legal or security reasons or in backups for a limited time.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
access your personal data;
correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
request deletion of your data in certain cases;
restrict how your data is processed;
receive your data in a portable format;
object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, email flickhunt@hey-creators.com. You may be asked to verify your identity. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children’s Privacy
Flickhunt is intended for users aged 13 and older. The app may show information, including posters and trailers, for films and series rated 18+, but FlickHunt does not stream or host the films themselves.
Flickhunt does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact flickhunt@hey-creators.com so the data can be deleted and the account closed if needed.
Security
Technical and organizational measures are used to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and regular monitoring. No system is fully secure, but reasonable steps are taken to protect your information.
Marketing Communications
If you choose to receive marketing messages, Flickhunt may send emails or in-app messages about new features, updates or offers. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in emails, changing settings in the app (where available) or contacting flickhunt@hey-creators.com. You will still receive important service messages about your account or subscription.
Third-Party Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are separate, and you are encouraged to read their privacy policies before sharing personal data with them.
